Laying the foundation
The groundwork: one repository holding the Next.js site, the NestJS API and a small shared package of request schemas. The site and the API validate input with the same schemas, so they can't drift apart. PostgreSQL holds everything, and every change to the database goes through a versioned migration, never an automatic sync. The API speaks plain REST, logs in JSON with a request id on every line, and reports errors in one standard format. Nothing to look at yet, but everything after this builds on it.
