Votes, feeds and search
Vahid AslaniDiscovery, the part visitors see first. Trending adds up the last few days of votes, each counting a little less as it ages, so new projects can rise without old favourites staying on top forever. Popular ranks by votes over a day, a week, a month or all time, and New is simply the latest launches. Ties are broken the same way every time. Votes from accounts created only hours earlier still show on a project, but they don't move rankings, which makes a burst of fresh accounts pointless. Search runs on PostgreSQL's full-text search, which understands word forms in each language and ignores accents, so "diseno" finds "diseño".
