Writing the requirements before the code
Before writing any code, I wrote the product requirements: who Axiean is for, what's in the first version and what isn't. A few rules came out of it that everything else follows: - A project belongs here if AI meaningfully helped make it. Makers declare the AI tools they used, and the site shows that as their own account, never as a verified fact. - Rankings must be fair and explainable: votes, counted the same way for everyone, over time windows anyone can understand. No machine-learned feed. - Authorization lives on the server. Hiding a button isn't security. - English and Spanish from day one, and a project's own language is kept separate from the language of the interface. The first version: accounts, maker profiles, organizations, projects, discovery, votes, comments, build logs, notifications and moderation. Everything else waits.
