Inspired by Industry Standards

Built for the "Measure What Matters" Era

Developed with the pioneering management principles of Intel's Andy Grove and popularized by John Doerr's Measure What Matters, Axiean's organizational tools are designed to surface your primary goals and channel team efforts.

A strong OKR system is not just about writing goals down; it's about connecting them. The Axiean Hierarchy Map institutionalizes the Four Superpowers of OKRs:

Focus and Commit

By mapping goals transparently, leaders can focus on the few priorities that truly matter and commit resources effectively.

Align and Connect

Objectives Mode prevents silos by connecting everyone's goals—from the CEO down—fostering top-down alignment and cross-functional teamwork.

Track for Accountability

Our real-time map inspector lets you monitor Key Result progress seamlessly. Data-driven updates flag when goals fall at risk.

Stretch for Amazing

Visualizing the entire organization's capabilities empowers teams to set aggressive, aspirational OKRs without losing sight of the broader mission.

"Objectives and key results are a potent, proven force for operating excellence. OKRs surface your primary goals. They channel efforts and coordination. They link diverse operations, lending purpose and unity to the entire organization."

— John DoerrAuthor, Measure What Matters

Enterprise-Grade Control

Behind the interactive canvas is a robust backend engine with cycle prevention, materialized paths, and safe reparenting strategies.

Organizational Flexibility

Support for custom unit types matches the way modern, agile structures operate. Build your org chart your way.

No Orphaned Goals

Promoted (Reparented) deletion safeguards ensure that organizational changes never leave goals or sub-teams orphaned.

Policy & Limit Enforcement

Enforce maximum depth limits and cross-unit alignment policies based on your organizational plan and capabilities.

Real-Time Sync

Node movements and structural changes are dispatched in real-time, instantly synchronizing across all active dashboards.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Structure Mode and Objectives Mode?
Structure Mode displays the formal reporting lines and unit hierarchies of your organization (e.g., Company -> Department -> Team -> Squad). Objectives Mode renders the strategic alignment tree, showing exactly how Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) cascade down and support top-level organizational goals.
How does the interactive map work?
The Map View is an interactive drag-and-zoom tree canvas. You can explore complex hierarchies by panning around. Clicking on any node centers the view and displays detailed inspection stats—such as goal progress and team metrics—on the right side panel without losing context.
How does Axiean's hierarchy support the 'Measure What Matters' philosophy?
Inspired by John Doerr's book 'Measure What Matters' and Andy Grove's original system at Intel, Axiean's hierarchy map enables the four OKR superpowers: Focus (on top priorities), Align (for teamwork), Track (for accountability), and Stretch (for amazing results). The map visually enforces alignment and transparency across all teams.
What happens when a department is deleted?
Axiean provides safe deletion strategies. You can either use CASCADE to soft-delete the department and all its child sub-departments, or REPARENT to delete the department but promote all its child departments one level up, preserving the rest of the structure and preventing orphan nodes and orphaned execution paths.
How do you prevent circular dependencies in the hierarchy?
When re-parenting a department, the service performs strict validation to prevent circular loops. A department cannot be moved under itself or any of its own descendants. The system locks the affected rows during re-parenting to rewrite paths safely using Materialized Path tree traversal algorithms.
Is the organizational map updated in real-time?
Yes. Node movements, edits, and archival emit real-time event updates to automatically synchronize changes across all active team dashboards. Everyone always sees the latest organizational structure, avoiding silos.
